Claire Tavener (Willmott)

Claire made me so proud to be her Dad. She would always do what was right, no matter what the cost to her. Her conscience would never let her walk away if she thought she could help.

She was fearless and brave, with a fantastic sense of humour well beyond her years. I miss her laugh so much. Her love for horses was a constant throughout her life, taking her to Hartpury College and a degree in horse management. And her talent for art never failed to surprise us.

Claire had a great relationship with her younger brother Sam, and just days before her death had met his girlfriend Alice, who he has since married. Claire told me she thought the two of them would get on well. And it is so sad she never met her little niece Daisy, who she would have adored.

The main thing in Claire’s life was her boys, Rory and Blake, just 6 and 3 when they lost not just their Mum but everything. She was a brilliant Mum and this showed - so many people commented to me about how good she was.

Her Mum and I miss her every day and do our best with the boys - but they should have their Mum.
